Imagine a scenario where you spray 1,2,3!!!
You've Got New Skin
Have you ever wondered if creating new skin could be as easy as spraying a perfume.
Like psssh.....and boom!
you got a new skin layer !!
Well to be honest it's not that fast but yes it's possible.
Wanna know how?
Let me take you through it.
"Spray skins" or "Spray-on-skin" is a medical treatment which harvests a patient's healthy cells then isolates them and suspends them into a solution to use as a spray. Which is used to treat skin conditions, like severe burns, chronic skin disease and so. It was invented in the 1990s by an Australian plastic surgeon Fiona Woods. But surprisingly, it gained popularity in the 2002 due to a bombing accident in Bali, Indonesia.
Currently, some medical hallmark agencies like FDA have approved its commercial use under the name of "Recell" in countries like the U.S, Australia, Japan and Euporean provinces etc. It has shown significant results compared to traditional painful grafting methods.

Well, following are some benefits of using skin sprays over traditional alternatives to treat burns;
1. It accelerates healing by delivering healthy cells directly to the wounded area and thus control damage.
2. It promotes natural skin regeneration, hence minimal to no scarring is seen post treatment.
3. It can easily cover a large surface area, ensuring even a small quantity of solution is more than enough.
4. Effectively, it reduces risk of infection as the skin cells are derived from the same person and further prepared under sterile conditions.
5. Compared to traditional grafting techniques it is way less painful and traumatic, helping the patient in better physical and mental healing.
6. It can be designed specifically to treat wounds more efficiently using cells like keratinocytes, fibroblasts etc.
So, is it worth the hype??
Let's look at a case study of the four-year-old, Jason Zimmerman, who suffered from third degree(severe) burns and using Recell, Dr. Arjun Khandelwal from Akron Children's Hospital, USA was able to heal his wounds even faster than expected.
